6/27 Heat Sheets & Meet Info
GFF Families -
Please arrive to the pool by 6:50 am. Please use the first parking lot to the left and enter through the back gate. This allows our team to tear down and leave without disturbing patrons waiting to enter the pool for the day. New families might find the attached maps helpful.
GFF warm-ups are at 7:00 am. Warm-ups for 10 & unders are optional. If your 10 & under swimmer is not warming up, they should arrive by 7:15. Immediately following warm-ups there will be a team meeting by the slides. Swimmers will receive their events at this time.
10 & unders - remember to write your swimmer's name on their back right shoulder in sharpie. It will probably be cold in the morning, so make sure you bring extra towels, sweats and blankets. We will only operate a bullpen for 10 & under swimmers. 11 & over are expected to be behind the blocks on time for their events. If a swimmer misses an event, it is very unlikely they can swim it in another heat. 11 & over - check with a bullpen worker for your event/lane if needed.
The heat sheets are attached and published in Swimtopia. The following events are combined: 1&2, 7&8, 9&10, 16&18, 55&56, 57&58, 62&64, 74&75, 76&77.
If you are setting up tonight, we begin setting up as soon as the pool closes at 7:00 pm, weather permitting. If it is raining, we would appreciate as much help as possible so that we can get done quickly. HERE is the meet setup & tear down guide. Make sure you check in with me when set up is complete. If you have concession donations, please bring those to the concession stand by 7:15 am Saturday.
The GFF tent will house the scorer's table. It will be set up in the grassy area behind/near the competition pool. Volunteers (both halves) need to check in for their shift here with Nicole or Danielle upon arrival. NEW - If you are tearing down after the meet, please check in with me at the completion of tear down.
The officials meeting will be at 7:30, we will do senior recognition at 7:40, and there will be a timer's meeting at 7:45 am (both half timers should attend). The meet will start promptly at 8:00 am. We use the Dolphin Wireless Stopwatch system. That means times will appear in your Swimtopia app almost instantly. Sometimes there are errors or disqualifications that come in a little later. When those come in, the app gets updated. If you notice an error with your swimmer's time, please wait approximately 15 minutes. If you feel there is still an error, please approach a coach and not the scorer's table. The scorers will only communicate with coaches and team reps.
The weather does not look great for tomorrow morning. We will swim in the rain, but the meet may be delayed due to thunderstorms. If the lightning alarm does sound, the aquatic center requires us to leave the gated/grassy area. It is best to wait in cars. I will send updates through Swimtopia, so make sure you have the app downloaded and notifications turned on. If there is a delay, we will try to get as much of the meet done as possible. We appreciate your understanding if the final events or relays get cut. If the meet ends up getting canceled, all swimmers entered (whether they have swum or not) will receive credit towards the 3 meet rule to participate in the Championship meet, per TCAL by-laws.
I will be at the pool this evening with pictures and I will also have them at the meet. Please try to pick them up this weekend!
Please email [email protected] if you have any questions or if your swimmer cannot attend the meet.
Thank you
