Groveport Fighting Fish Coaches

Mark Keane - Mark Keane is a swim instructor at the Wyandotte Athletic Club and a swim coach for the YMCA East Tridents as well as the Groveport Fighting Fish . In fact, this marks his 25th year with the Wyandotte and 37th year as a swim instructor. Mark loves his profession as a swim instructor. He has had the opportunity to share his knowledge in the area of aquatics with many others as a Red Cross instructor trainer and volunteer. In addition, following his graduation from college at the University of Toledo, he returned to teach swim courses for the Department of Health Education. Mark later became the lead swim instructor of the National Youth Sports Program (NYSP) at the Ohio State University during the summers of 1998 through 2001.

Guosong Maokhamphiou -  Guosong started swimming at a young age with Mark Keane as his swim instructor. After being introduced by Mark's son, Guosong learned to fall in love with the sport and continued to take lessons and practice with Mark until High School, where he would join Groveport in the summer. Starting in 2018, Guosong swam with Groveport until graduation in 2022, also swimming with the East Tridents for a year (2018 - 2019), and became a Junior Coach in 2021 where he learned that he loved being able to coach the younger generation. Recently, he has finished coaching his first summer season at Groveport and winter season at YMCA Ward with Coach Mark. Guosong is also attending The Ohio State University and plans on graduating by the end of 2025 with a Bachelors in Economics to try and assist families and people with their financial troubles. This will be Guosong's 2nd year coaching with the Fighting Fish. 

Miaya Green - Miaya began swimming at age 7 and quickly developed a love for the sport. By age 10, she joined the Groveport Fighting Fish and later swam year-round with Ohio State Swim Club, gaining valuable experience and a strong foundation in competitive swimming. During her high school career, Miaya was part of a state-ranked relay team and set a school record in the 100 butterfly, reflecting her dedication and work ethic in the pool. After her competitive career, Miaya spent two years coaching with the Groveport Fighting Fish, where she enjoyed helping young swimmers grow in both skill and confidence. She took a step back from coaching to complete graduate school and start a family, and is now a proud mom to her one-year-old son, Olaju. Now back on deck, Miaya is excited to return as a coach. She enjoys helping swimmers build confidence, improve their skills, and have fun in the water while being part of a team.

Ilana Webber - Ilana Webber began swimming at the age of nine in California, competing in her local summer league. Throughout high school, she continued swimming while also playing water polo and teaching swim lessons in her backyard. In college, she served as a Special Olympics swim coach for three years with the Davis Special Olympics program. Since moving to Ohio in 2008, Ilana has built a life with her husband and their two children. Their youngest, Jocelyn, is especially excited to join the Fighting Fish swim team this year. Ilana has been a dedicated educator for 20 years and has spent the past 10 years coaching the Groveport Madison High School swim team. She is thrilled to return to her roots and be part of a summer swim team once again.

Assistant Coaches 

Collin HartCollin Hart has been a competitive swimmer for 7 years, swimming with Unified Aquatics and the Groveport Madison High School Varsity Swim Team. His favorite stroke is the butterfly, and he absolutely loves helping out younger swimmers. He is currently certified in CPR/AED for adults and children along with First AID. He has spent the last three summers as a junior coach. 

Taze Owens - Three-time team MVP and Groveport Madison High School team captain, Coach Taze brings 5 years of junior coaching experience to the deck. He was voted “Most Inspirational” by his teammates for his focus on technique, confidence, and team culture. He’s passionate about helping athletes love the sport while chasing personal bests.
